About THE REAL Me

I'm a female photographer located in the Northern California and I've been shooting professionally for a little over three years now. I had several blogs before this because in the photography industry, it was such a essential part of our branding, but I got tired of trying to keep separate blogs (essentially separate lives) for all the crazy things happening in my life. One of the reasons why I stopped blogging about my weddings in particular was because I felt like I was being so fake in them. I often feel that people have this idea that wedding photographers are always so giddy, cheerful and conservative, which I'm not saying that I'm not, but in 2010 I want to be more passionate about what I'm shooting so when I say, "I love (blank)." I want to really mean it. The truth is I'm a free spirit with a very open mind and sort of shameless when it comes to my opinions and private life so if you come visit this blog please be aware that you are going to get to know parts of me that you may not want to know, but it is the real me.

An important thing you should know about me, of which, I almost never talk about is that I'm married to my high school sweetheart. His name is Lance and we've been married for 3 years, but we've been together for 10.

I have two pups, whom are like my children!

I'm addicted to television, recording up to 4 or 5 shows at night, sometimes at the same time. It's a good and bad thing. It's very easy to plop in front of the tv with my laptop and edit photos, but this could mean I never stop working.

I love spicy food! I can't live without coffee!

And I think wonderful friends are people who accept you for being a total bitch. I want you to be my friend so there are a few other things you must know....

My vices are: 1. I curse. I mean, I'm not like a pathological cuss-er, but I'm known to drop a few bombs here and there. I want to blog like you are my girlfriend and you don't sit around a table with your girlfriends and say "family friendly" things. It just doesn't happen. :) 2. I shoot naked people. They are usually fun, flirty glamour nudes. No, I don't shoot porn, but nudity scares people although we are all naked in one way or another.

Why am I telling you this? I understand that there are people out there that find these parts about me unappealing and that's okay. Basically, my photography business has been growing a lot lately and although it would be nice to land every photography job I've come to realize that sometimes the ones that come in my inbox are not ones that I'm passionate about shooting. I want to love my work and my clients and I really want to be find people who are looking for me just as much as I am looking for them. The photographer in me is single and lonely and is looking for it's epic love story. I hope it's you.
