Rebranding = True Love + Lustful Images = Amazing Stories

Since I've been shooting professionally for a few years now I'm now really looking into rebranding my whole site. I have more of an idea of what type of photography I want to do and who I want to deliver it to.

A couple things I'm not really happy with is this whole keeping separate sites/domains/everything. As you know I do lots of wedding work, but I also do plenty of glamour work and I've been thinking a lot about merging the two together. First, because I'm really tired of having to maintain two separate identities and second, by merging the two together it will really help narrow down the type of clients who I want to shoot for and who equally want me to shoot for them.

I took a commercial photographer class once taught by an awesome professor, Richard Seagraves, who said one thing that really stuck with me. You should only put things in your portfolio that you want people to book you for and this also means not cluttering your portfolio with things that you may not have a real interest in shooting. Sometimes I struggle with this because I struggle with what I want to do and what is selling. Along this line of thinking I separated my two styles of photography because I felt like some of my wedding clients may be turned away if they weren't comfortable with my glamour work.

Here's the cold hard truth. I don't enjoy doing all weddings. I find that sometimes clients don't necessary book me based on my photos. Sometime they book me for a great deal. A great deal is awesome, but a great deal to me often feels like I'm shooting a wedding which was meant for another photographer. So I think that being more open about my work will bring more clients who have similar personalities to mine and create more harmony in my life.

My photography is like a really good book. It has stories of lust and stories of love and I want my chapters to to be amazing moments with amazing people have have similar stories.

So I'm merging my two styles together and creating more passionate, but whimsy love stories and I hope you can be a part of it.
